ON THE REVERSE of the Ted Drake page is the Sunderland (1936-7) team which finished 8th in Division 1 and were the 1937 FA Cup winners (beating Preston 3-1) ; Gurney / Gallacher / Collins / Carter / Connor / Thomson / Middleton / Hasting / Mapson / McNab / Duns & Alex Hall.

ARSENAL FC. Founded 1886. Highbury and The Emirates Stadium. They were the first club from the south of England to join The Football League in 1893. They entered the First Division in 1904 and have since accumulated the second most points in that league. Relegated only once (in 1913) they continue the longest streak in the top division. In the 1930s, Arsenal won five League Championships and two FA Cups and another FA Cup and two Championships after the war.
