About

About Batman

Batman

BATMAN. American live action TV series based on the DC comic book character of the same name. It aired on the ABC network for three series & 120 episodes between January 1966 and March 1968, twice weekely for the first two series and weekly for the third. It starred Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin — two crime-fighting heroes who defend Gotham City. The program was known for its camp style, upbeat theme music, cartoon captions and its relatively simplistic youth-aimed moral lessons, which included championing the importance of using seat belts, doing homework, eating vegetables and drinking milk among children. It has never really been off the TV in the past 50 years and has spawned countless big budget films. Adam West (Batman) died peacefully at home in Los Angeles of leukemia aged 88 on June 9th 2017.
