BERNARDO HOUSSAY d1971. Argentine physiologist who in 1947 was a co-recipient of a Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine for discovering the role played by pituitary hormones in regulating the amount of blood sugar (glucose) in animals. He died in Buenos Aires aged 84 on September 21st 1971
