Black Lace
BLACK LACE. English pop-act best known for their 1980's novelty party records including ; Agadoo (UK No2 1984) / Superman (UK No9 1983) / The Birdie Song and Do The Conga. The band first came into the public eye after being selected as the UKs 1979 Eurovision Song Contest entry in which they finished seventh with Mary Ann. Alan Barton went onto replace Chris Norman as the lead singer of Smokie. He sadly died aged 41 in March 1995 from injuries incurred when their tour bus crashed during a hailstorm in Cologne Germany.
