Blondie
BLONDIE. American punk / new wave band whose lead singer Debbie Harry is one of the most recognisable female popstar faces of all time. The group enjoyed huge initial success in 1978 with their LP "Parallel Lines" and later scored six UK No1 hit singles including ; Heart of Glass / Atomic / Sunday Girl and Maria (1997). Blondie first disbanded in 1982 due to tensions within the band and a serious mystery illness to songwriter Chris Stein ; they reformed in 1997 and continue to tour today. To date the group have sold an estimated 60 million records.
