BLUE PETER. British BBC television programme first aired in 1958 and the second longest-running children's TV show in the UK behind The Sooty Show. During its history there have been many presenters, often consisting of one woman and two men at a time. As of August 2012 an incredible 4698 episodes have been aired. John Noakes died aged 83 in Spain on May 28th 2017

He was known for his affinity with dogs Patch d1971 and later Shep and his famous catchphrase "Get Down Shep". Valerie Singleton appeared between 1962-1972 and Peter Purves 1967-1978
