BOBBY RYDELL. American rock n roll teen idol singer of the 1960s. During the decade he had numerous Billboard Hot100 hits, scoring 34 Top 40 chart entries, placing him in the top five artists of his era. These included his most popular successes ; "Wild One" (No2) / "Volare" (No4) / "Swingin' School" (No5) / "Kissin' Time" (No11) / "Sway" (No14) / "I've Got Bonnie" (No18) and "The Cha-Cha-Cha" (No10). His last major chart success was "Forget Him" which reached No4 on the Hot100 in January 1964. The song written by Tony Hatch was his fifth and final gold disc winner. He signed to Capitol Records later in 1964.
