Cary Grant

CARY GRANT d1986. British American actor known for his distinctive accent and for playing debonair handsome charming leading men throughout his career between the 1930s-1960s. His classic roles including ; The Awful Truth (1937) / Bringing Up Baby (1938) / Gunga Din (1939) / Only Angels Have Wings (1939) / His Girl Friday (1940) / Philadelphia Story (1940) / Arsenic and Old Lace (1944) / Notorious (1946) / To Catch A Thief (1955) /  An Affair To Remember (1957) / North by Northwest (1959) and Charade (1963). Voted by AFI the 2nd Greatest Male Film Star of all time. He died of a stroke aged 82 in Iowa on November 29th 1986.

An original circa 1960s piece of card, clearly signed in ballpoint by Cary Grant

 

Certification:

The autograph was obtained during the 1960s by VH onboard the SS Oriana cruise ship travelling between Australia to England. There is a letter included detailing the history and a polaroid photo of Cary Grant with his wife Dyan Cannon. AFTAL Dealer No13 and UACC RD Memorabilia UK COA

A very good original vintage circa 1940s autograph book page, clearly signed and dedicated in green ink (Greetings Pauline) by Cary Grant.

 

Certification:

From the wonderful vintage autograph book (containing many notable actors of the 1940-50s) of P Sears whose father worked at Shepperton Film Studios during this period. An original circa 1950s cut signature on a card, clearly signed in ink neatly laid down onto an autograph book page "Good luck Cary Grant".

 

Certification:

One of a superb collection of autographs all obtained by Phyllis Baker who worked for Warner Bros as an usherette at The Odeon Leicester Square London between 1938 and 1958.
