Connie Smith

CONNIE SMITH. American country music artist active since 1964. She is widely considered to be one of the genre's best female vocalists ; earning 11 Grammy Award nominations / 20 Billboard Top10 country singles and 31 charting albums (three of which have reached No1). On October 21st 2012, she became only the 12th solo female vocalist and 19th woman to be elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Despite her success, she is considered by some music critics to be one of the most underrated vocalists in country music history, due to her decision not to pursue the super-stardom of some of her contemporaries like Dolly Parton / Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette.
