Doctor Who

Doctor Who

DOCTOR WHO. Iconic BBC TV science-fiction programme which has run for 26 seasons since 1963 with close to 800 episodes. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord, a time travelling humanoid alien with two hearts known as The Doctor. He explores the universe in his Tardis  time machine (externally a blue British police box) which flies through time and space. Along with a succession of companions, the Doctor faces a variety of foes (most famous of which over the years have included The Daleks and The Cybermen) while working to save civilisations, help ordinary people and right wrongs ...... Between 1963-2021, thirteen actors have played the part of The Doctor. Allowing the image of the lead actors to change over the years has been made possible and convincing as a result of a unique scripting idea known as "regeneration" when the first actor (William Hartnell) left the series in 1966
