EDWARD FOX. English actor. He starred in the film The Day of the Jackal (1973) playing the part of a professional assassin the "Jackal" who is hired to assassinate French president Charles de Gaulle in the summer of 1963. He is also known for his roles in Battle of Britain (1969) / The Go-Between (1971) for which he won a BAFTA award and The Bounty (1984). He also collaborated with director Richard Attenborough, appearing in his films ; Oh What a Lovely War (1969) / A Bridge Too Far (1977) and Gandhi (1982). He won the British Academy Television Award for Best Actor for playing Edward VIII in the television drama series Edward & Mrs. Simpson (1978)
