ELLSWORTH VINES d1994. American tennis champion of the 1930s and the World No1 for four years (1932 / 35 / 36 & 37) who was able to win Pro Slam titles on three different surfaces. Winner of eleven Grand Slam titles including Wimbledon in 1932. He later became a professional golfer. He died in California aged 82 on March 17th 1994.
