ELVIS COSTELLO. English musician singer-songwriter who first came to prominence in 1977 as the leader of Elvis Costello and The Attractions with the classic album "My Aim Is True". There followed a string of distinctive hit singles including ; "Alison" / "Red Shoes" / "Watching The Detectives" / "Chelsea" / "New Amsterdam" / "Good Year For The Roses" and "Olivers Army" which reached No2 in 1979.
