Ely Culbertson

ELY CULBERTSON d1955. American contract bridge entrepreneur and personality dominant during the 1930s. He played a major role in the popularization of the new game and was widely regarded as "the man who made contract bridge". A great showman who became rich, was known to be highly extravagant and lost & gained fortunes several times over. He died aged 64 in Vermont USA on December 27th 1955.
