The item has very well documented history. A Mr Green attended the England versus France match at Wembley on July 20th 1966 (match ticket validates this). He got his young son Colin aged 7 to write a letter to his favorite player Geoff Hurst enclosing a sae with his tournament programme and he then dropped it off at The Teams Hotel. The programme arrived back fully signed in the post on the morning of The Final on July 30th. It is amazing to think that this programme was therefore probably autographed by all the players less than 48 hours before the biggest ever day in English Football ; a day that would change the lives and carve out the names of Hurst / Banks / Moore / Charlton and Co in history ...........A short letter detailing the history is included.
