Description:

1) JACKIE STEWART ; Legendary Scottish F1 driver for BRM and Tyrrell. One of the all time greats with 27 wins from 99GP starts and a triple World F1 Champion in 1969 / 71 and 73 on all occasions driving for Ken Tyrell. Synonymous and instrumental over the years with encouraging the FIA in bringing in countless racing driver and circuit safety measures to save lives.

2) JAMES HUNT d1993 ; British F1 driver and the unforgettable World Champion of 1976. A talented and underrated playboy driver who had to on occasions battle his demons whilst competing ; often displaying real determination and flashes of genius on the track. He competed in 93 GPs scoring 10 wins with Hesketh and Marlboro McLaren. His charisma and charm endeared him to the public, bringing a whole new audience to Formula 1 motorsport at the time. He later forged out a career as a BBC TV sports commentator during the 1980s-90s. A fondly remembered British hero of the 1970s, he sadly died of a heart-attack aged just 45 in 1993.

3) NIGEL MANSELL : English Formula 1 Racing Driver between 1980-1995 with Lotus / Williams / Ferrari and McLaren who won both the F1 World Championship in 1992 and the Cart Indy Car Series in his first season in 1993. He remains the most successful British Formula One driver of all time with 31 victories from 191 starts with 59 podiums.

4) DAMON HILL OBE ; English Formula 1 Racing driver between 1992-1999 with Brabham / Williams / Arrows and Jordan. The son of Graham Hill. Career record ; 122 races / 22 wins / 42 podiums / 20 pole positions. He became a test driver for the Formula One title-winning Williams team in 1992. During the mid-1990s, he was Michael Schumachers main rival for the Drivers' Championship. The two clashed on and off the track and their famous collision at the 1994 Australian GP gave Schumacher his first title by a single point. Hill became World Champion in 1996, but was dropped by Williams for the following season. He went onto drive for the less competitive Arrows and Jordan teams and in 1998 gave Jordan its first win. He retired from racing after the 1999 season. In 2006, he became president of the BRDC succeeding Jackie Stewart and later stepped down from the position in 2011 succeeded by Derek Warwick.

5) JENSON BUTTON MBE ; British Formula One driver active 2000 to the present day with Mercedes and McLaren. Career record (as of March 2015) ; 269 races / 15 wins / 50 podiums / 8 poles and 8 fastest laps. World Champion driving for Mercedes in 2009.
