FRANK SINATRA d1998. "Ol Blue Eyes". Legendary American popular singer and academy award winning actor. He began his long and stylish musical career during the swing era but his popularity declined during the 1950s until he won an academy award for best supporting actor in 1954 for "From here to Eternity". After founding his own label Reprise records he toured internationally throughout his life enjoying many career renaissances and selling over 500 million records. His personal life always controversial with his links to crime ; friendships with amongst others John F Kennedy and the wild nights as a member of the notorious Hollywood Rat Pack. Winner of 11 Grammys including a lifetime achievement award and one of the highest selling singers of all time. He died of a heart attack on May 14th 1998 aged 82. "Frank Sinatra's voice is pop music history. Like Dylan and Presley, the only other white male singer since 1940 whose popularity, influence and mythical force has been comparable. Sinatra will last indefinitely, he virtually invented modern pop song phrasing ..."

A good original vintage 1950 autograph book page, clearly signed & dedicated (To Maud Best wishes) in ink by Frank Sinatra

Double mounted for fine display with original sheet music and 7in vinyl record to he classic "My Way".

Certification:

The seller recalled that his mother (Maud) obtained this autograph along with those of British band leader and singer (Harry Roy / Sam Browne) at the White City Greyhound Stadium London in July 1950. Harry Roy signature has collectors notation July 1950. Both those pages are included (see image 3). These cards we understand were sent by the Naval Aid Charity to celebrities of the period in order to raise funds for the war effort. Description:

An attractive original 1976 Royal Brandy Ice Cocktail advertising card from the Lord Fletcher Inn Palm Springs, clearly signed in ink "For Marcia Happy New Year 1976 Frank Sinatra"

Certification:

Obtained by Marcia in person at the Lord Fletcher Inn Palm Springs when she met Frank Sinatra on New Years Eve 1976. He was sat at the next table and she plucked up the courage to ask him to sign her drinks menu that evening. Includes a typed letter from her close friend (the seller) further detailing the history. The Lord Fletcher Inn was a British style restaurant in Rancho Mirage CA. Frank Sinatra lived in the area and was a frequent dining customer, often entertaining celebrity friends there for 30 years. Average-Good. View Images. There is a horizontal fold crease 3/4 way down the card. The ink signature is one shade light, but very clearly readable (Clarity we would rate as 7.5/10). Overall condition of the card we would rate as 8.5/10

NB ; The original Frank Sinatra autograph was sold whilst still in its autograph book. The display mount was supplied to the buyer with a "print" of that autograph inside.

 

Certification:

From the 1950s autograph book of D Tucker of South Yardley Birmingham containing just three signatures (Frank Sinatra / Winifrid Atwell & Max Bygraves). He collected the signatures during this period at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Aged just 14 he met Frank Sinatra at the stage door when he appeared in variety at the venue on June 29th 1953 during his UK Tour that year. There is a short note included detailing further the history from his wife. NB ; The original Frank Sinatra autograph was sold whilst still in its autograph book. The display mount was supplied to the buyer with a "print" of that autograph inside. The autograph book ALSO has the other signatures listed still remaining inside. AFTAL Dealer No13 and UACC RD Memorabilia UK COA.

Description:

An original 1962 BOAC white notepad page with company logo, clearly signed in ballpoint "Frank Sinatra".

 

Certification:

Obtained by Mr T B Wright who was a passenger officer for British United Airways at London Gatwick Airport. He assisted Mr Sinatras party through the airport in 1962. His business card which is included supports the provenance. UACC RD222 & AFTAL Dealer No13 Memorabilia UK COA

A good original 1950s autograph book page, clearly signed in blue ink by Frank Sinatra.

 

Certification:

From a very fine autograph book containing many entertainment notables of the period, all collected during the 1950s in and around the Blackpool area. Our research shows that Sinatra played Blackpool Opera House in July 1953, so we summise this to be the actual date of signing. Certification:

From the early 1960s autograph book of Paula Martin of Thames Ditton containing many entertainment notables including ; The Rolling Stones / Frank Sinatra / Dean Martin and Bing Crosby. Some autographs are dedicated to her. Our research would indicate that this autograph was likely obtained in early June 1962 when Frank Sinatra was in London playing three consecutive nights whilst recording his album Sinatra Sings Great Songs from Great Britain. An original cardboard Marcovitch Black and White Cigarettes packet, clearly signed and dated 1959 in ink by Frank Sinatra. 

Certification:

From the autograph book containing many notables all collected during the 1950s of The Manageress of The Clifton Hotel Blackpool , where most of the celebrities appearing in the town stayed at the time. Description:

An original typed letter to Frank Sinatra (dated June 9th 1945) on onionskin paper, clearly signed in ink by Frank Sinatra at the bottom. The letter is from and also signed  by Norbert Connair, president of the Sergeants Club. 

The letter reads in part ; “On behalf of the members of the Sergeants Club of Fort Pepperrell Newfoundland, I wish to take this opportunity to express our appreciation and sincerest thanks for your honored visit….. It is also an honor for me to offer to you Mr Sinatra and you Mr. Silvers, ‘Honorary Memberships’ to the Sergeants Club. You have won a place among us by being one of us...."

 

Certification:
