FREE. English rock band first formed in London during the 1960s when the members were still only teenagers. They are best known for their all time classic signature song "All Right Now" taken from the Fire and Water LP (which reached No2 in the UK and No4 in the US) during the summer of 1970. In 1970, they played to 600,000 people at the legendary Isle Of Wight Festival and during the early 1970s became a superstar blues rock group selling over 20 million albums whilst utilising the distinctive sound of revered guitar genius Paul Kossoff. However by 1972 relationships within the group had become strained mainly due to the unreliabilty and erratic behaviour of drug addict Kossoff who often failed to turn up for shows. Paul Kossoff died from drug induced heart failure in 1976 (aged just 25) on a flight between Los Angeles and New York. He is widely considered to have been one of rock musics finest ever guitarists.
