Gene Tunney

GENE TUNNEY d1978. American boxer and World Heavyweight Champion 1926-1928. His title defence against Jack Dempsey known as "The Long Count Fight" remains one of the most famous in boxing history. Known to be a modern thinking fighter with an excellent left jab, he retired as an undefeated heavyweight in 1928 after victory over Tom Heeney. His career record 86 Fights with only one defeat.
