Description:

1) GENE VINCENT d1971. Influential rockabilly pioneer best known for his classic "Be Bop a Lula" and his wild must see stage shows of the early 1960s. His well documented self destructive lifestyle and a long history of poor health led to his premature death aged just 36 on October 12th 1971.

2) BILLY FURY d1983. Widely regarded as one of Britains best Rock n Roll singers of the early 1960s. After being discovered by Larry Parnes a series of dramatic ballads combined with his stylish good looks made him a star. He suffered with poor health for much of his life and died of a heart attack in 1983.

3) ADAM FAITH d2003. British actor and singer of the 1950s and 60s.

4) JESS CONRAD. English singer and actor of the 1950s-60s best known for hit singles ; Cherry Pie / Mystery Girl and Pretty Jenny.

5) MARTY WILDE. English rock n roll singer of the 1950s-60s best known for his Top 5 hit singles ; Donna / Teenager in Love and Sea of Love.

6) JOE BROWN. Evergreen English singer and guitar virtuoso of the 1960s, best known for a string of hit singles including ; Picture of You / Thats What Love Will Do and Henry 8th (I am).

A wonderful set of six clearly signed original vintage autograph book pages in various ballpoints and ink by all of the above artists in the photograph. A lovely piece of pop music memorabilia for a 1950-60s collector.

NB ; We have put a PRINTED Eddie Cochran signature in the display to complete it. It could be removed and replaced with an original, if one could be found. Eddie Cochran signatures are rare, expensive and very sought after. This display would be at least twice the price with an original Cochran signature included.

GENE VINCENT AND FRIENDS. From the Eddie Cochran and Gene Vincent 1960 UK Tour. These two close friends created a sensation touring the UK together from Mid-January 1960 on the notorious, extensive and punishing Larry Parnes Winter Tour. Support acts included up & coming young UK artists including ; Billy Fury / Joe Brown / Georgie Fame / Vince Eager / Johnny Gentle / Jess Conrad / Marty Wilde and Adam Faith. The tour ended on Saturday April 16th after a week long residency at The Bristol Hippodrome. Later that same evening Eddie Cochran died in a car accident on his way back to the airport to return to the USA.

Certification:

Gene Vincent is a circa 1964 example from an autograph book obtained in Liverpool (Pacemakers Les Chadwick & Fred Marsden are on the reverse of this page). Billy Fury is from the autograph book of Pam Priest obtained in Great Yarmouth in 1963. The other autographs are from various 1960s autograph books that Memorabilia UK have purchased over the years. NB ; The Eddie Cochran signature shown only in this display is A PRINT. AFTAL Dealer No13 and UACC RD Memorabilia UK COA.
