Genesis
GENESIS. British progressive-rock group first formed in 1967 at Charterhouse School. They went onto become one of the Top 30 best-selling bands of all time (150 million albums worldwide) including ; Selling England by The Pound (1973) / The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (1974) / Trick of The Tail (1976) / And Then There Were Three (1978) and followed these with 1980s No1s Duke / Abacab / Genesis / Invisible Touch and We Cant Dance. The groups personnel has changed several times over the years ; Anthony Phillips left in 1970 (due to stage-fright) / Peter Gabriel left in 1975 (due to personal issues and professional differences). The group then auditioned 400 new lead singers to replace him and chose Phil Collins ! / guitarist Steve Hackett left in 1977 (due to musical differences). The three remaining original group members then enjoyed mainstream success throughout the 1980s. Phil Collins left in 1996 to pursue various solo projects. They reunited on their 40th Anniversary for the 2006 Turn It On Tour........
