GEORGE AND MILDRED. British Thames TV sitcom spin-off from Man About The House which aired for 38 episodes between 1976-1979. It starred Brian Murphy and Yootha Joyce as ill-matched married couple George and Mildred Roper. Heavy drinker Yootha Joyce died suddenly aged just 53 of liver failure in 1980 prior to making the sixth series.
