George Relph

GEORGE RELPH CBE d1960. English film and theatre actor who appeared in over a dozen films. He served in the British Armed Forces during the First World War and was shot in the leg, hindering his return to acting. Eventually he got back on stage and re-established his career. His last role was as Tiberius Caesar in the classic 1959 film Ben Hur, the final version of which was released just five months before his death at the age of 72 on 24th April 1960.
