GODSPELL. A musical composed by Stephen Schwartz with the spoken parts by John-Michael Tebelak. It opened off Broadway on May 17th 1971 and has played in various touring companies & revivals ever since. Several cast album have been released over the years and one of its songs "Day By Day" (from the original cast album) reached No13 on the Billboard pop singles chart in the summer of 1972. Godspell opened at the Round House London on November 17th 1971, before moving to the Wyndams Theatre where it became a major hit, launching the careers of many of its cast including ; David Essex / Julie Covington / Marti Webb and Jeremy Irons.
