HILDEGARDE d2005. American cabaret singer at her peak during the 1930-40s best known for the song "Darling, Je Vous Aime Beaucoup." A noted flirt referred to as "a luscious hazel-eyed Milwaukee blonde who sinds the way Garbo looks ...", she became known for wearing elegant gowns with long gloves and using risqué anecdotes while giving long-stemmed roses to men in her audiences. Her recordings sold in the hundreds of thousands. She died of natual causes in New York aged 99 in 2005.
