JANET LEIGH d2004. American actress and the wife of fellow actor Tony Curtis 1951-1962. Discovered by actress Norma Shearer, she secured her first film contract with MGM in the late 1940s. Notable films include ; Safari (1958) / Touch Of Evil (1958) and The Manchurian Candidate (1962). She will however be forever remembered for playing the doomed Marion Crane in the Alfred Hitchcock classic "Psycho" (1960) ; a role for which she received a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for best supporting actress. Four times married, she died aged 77 following a heart attack in 2004.
