Jean Behra

JEAN BEHRA d1959. French racing driver who competed in Formula One from 1952-1959. He contested 54 Formula One Grands Prix across eight seasons for Gordini / Maserati / BRM / Ferrari and Behra-Porsche. He achieved nine podiums and one fastest lap, finishing fourth in the 1956 World Drivers' Championships with Maserati. He died aged 38 on August 1st 1959 from head injuries sustained in an accident at the 1959 AVUS Formula Two round of the German Grand Prix
