JEAN SIMMONS OBE d2010. Beautiful Academy / Emmy / Bafta and Golden Globe winning English actress of the 1940-1960s, best known for her roles in film classics including ; Hamlet (1948) / The Robe (1953) / Guys and Dolls (1955) / Elmer Gantry (1960) / Spartacus (1960) and The Happy Ending (1963). She died from lung cancer aged 80 in 2010.

A rare early original typed letter in response to a fans photo request (dated 14th March 1949), clearly signed at the conclusion in ink by Jean Simmons

In the letter she refers to her play "The Power of Darkness" coming to London (Phoenix Theatre). How she is still quite nervous about appearing on stage and a Fan-Club
