JILL BALCON d2009. English film & radio actress who made her film debut as Madeline Bray in the 1947 film classic "Nicholas Nickleby". She later became well known for her stage / TV and radio work. She married the Anglo-Irish poet Cecil Day-Lewis in 1951. She is the the mother of actor Daniel Day-Lewis and filmmaker Tamasin Day-Lewis. She died in London aged 84 on July 18th 2009.
