JOAN DOWLING d1954. English actress who signed her first film contract aged 17 for Associated British Pictures. She became best known for playing tomboy Clarry in the 1947 Ealing Studios production "Hue and Cry". She sadly commited suicide by gas poisoning aged just 26 in 1954.

A rare (circa 1953) autograph book page, clearly signed in red ballpoints by both Joan Dowling (adding Good Luck) and Harry Fowler (To Laurie). 

JOAN DOWLING d1954. English actress who signed her first film contract aged 17 for Associated British Pictures. She became best known for playing tomboy Clarry in the 1947 Ealing Studios production "Hue and Cry". She sadly commited suicide by gas poisoning aged just 26 in 1954.

HARRY FOWLER d2012. English film and TV actor who in a career lasting over 60 years made nearly 200 appearances on screen.

A rare vintage (circa 1940s) Sunday Pictorial Souvenir page, clearly signed in ink by Joan Dowling..

 

Certification:

One of a large autograph colllection all obtained in person by a Mr Skinner who attended many of The Sunday Pictorial Garden Party Events held annually during the 1940-50s at Morden Hall Park in London. These were hugely popular public events with many attractions including meet and greets with many entertainment celebrities of the period.
