JOE E BROWN d1973. American actor and comedian, remembered for his amiable screen persona, comic timing and enormous smile. He was one of the most popular American comedians of the 1930-40s with a string of succesfull film appearances including Earthworm Tractors. In his later career he starred as Osgood Fielding lll in the classic Some Like It Hot (1959). He died of heart problems aged 81 in 1973.
