John Cleese

JOHN CLEESE. English actor, comedian, writer and film producer. He achieved success at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and as a scriptwriter on The Frost Report. In the late 1960s he became a member of Monty Python, the comedy troupe responsible for the classic sketch show Monty Pythons Flying Circus and for making four Monty Python films including "The Life of Brian". In the mid 1970s, he co-wrote and starred in (with first wife Connie Booth) the classic British sitcom Fawlty Towers. It first broadcast in 1975 on BBC2, consisting of just twelve legendary episodes. In 2000 it was voted by the British Film Institute as the greatest ever British TV Comedy programme. His later film roles to the current day include ; A Fish Called Wanda / Fierce Creatures / Clockwise / James Bond / Harry Potter and Shrek.
