JOHN LEE HOOKER d2001. Highly influential American blues singer and guitarist with trademark droning one chord blues and spoken style. Whilst sadly being illiterate, he was a prolific lyricist who recorded over 100 albums and one of The Songs of The Century with the 1948 classic "Boogie Chillen". He died aged 83 in 2001
