Johnny Burnette

JOHNNY BURNETTE d1964. American rockability pioneer originally with The Rock and Roll Trio who split in 1957. During his subsequent solo career, he achieved considerable success despite regularily changing record labels. His best known hits in the UK include Top 5 singles ; "Dreamin" / "Your Sixteen" (1960) and "Little Boy Sad" in 1961. He drowned (aged just 30) following a freak boating accident on Clearlake California on August 14th 1964, when his tiny unlit fishing boat was struck after dark by a cabin cruiser.

Description:

An original Johnny Burnette 1962 UK program from the Rock 'n Twist USA tour.

The tour featured the following artists : The Condors, The Kestrels, Rolly Daniels, Danny Rivers, Mark Wynter, Johnny Burnette, The Flee Rekkers, Gene McDaniels and U.S. Bonds.

Certification:

From an extensive collection obtained by canteen employee Miss J Foster at The De Montfort Hall Leicester who worked there during the 1960-70s. The tour visited this venue on April 24th 1962 so we can assume this is the actual date for this programme. AFTAL Dealer No13 and UACC RD Memorabilia UK.
