Description:

A very good large 1996 autograph book page, clearly signed in ballpoints by all four original group members ; Crispian Mills (adding For Kath Sweet Realities 13/7/96) / Alonza Bevan / Paul Whitehart and Jay Darlington (left 1999).

Suitable for mounting and display.

Certification:

One of a huge collection of over 1000 autographs in around a dozen large books all obtained in person (between 1990-1999 mostly in the Manchester area) by husband and wife Tony & Kath (many autographs are personally dedicated / dated to them with messages of thanks from the artists). The majority of signatures are of the major pop-groups of the period (including many Brit-Pop) signed at the various Manchester music venues (The Apollo / Nymex Arena / The Academy / G-Mex Centre and The University Union) and also at festivals (the T-Festival Strathclyde 1995-97). From the notes / dedications within the books and the difficult accessibility into such premium venues & concerts, we believe the couple must have worked in positions that gave / allowed them back-stage access during the period. Kula Shaker played the T-Festival Strathclyde in King Tuts Tent on 14th July 1996, the day after these signatures are dated. The position / number of this page within the books and our research leads us to conclude that this is likely to be the actual signing date for this autograph. IAA. About Kula Shaker

Kula Shaker

KULA SHAKER. English psychedelic group who first came to prominence during the post Brit-Pop era of the late 1990s. The band enjoyed commercial success in the UK between 1996 and 1999, notching up a number of Top10 hits on the UK singles chart  including ; "Tattva" / "Hey Dude" / Govinda / Hush and "Sound of Drums". Their debut album K reached No1 in the UK album chart. They are known for their interest in traditional Indian music, culture & mysticism with a number of their most famous songs featuring lyrics in Sanskrit. The name Kula Shaker was itself inspired by King Kulasekhara, an Indian emperor from the 8th century. Kula Shaker disbanded in September 1999, but reformed in 2004 for sessions for the School of Braja album which led to plans for a full comeback, although the reformation was not widely publicised until the beginning of 2006. The band's third album  Strangefolk was issued in 2007 and their fourth Pilgrims Progress was released in 2010 ....
