Lambrettas

Lambrettas

THE LAMBRETTAS. English mod-revival band first active in the late 1970s, named after the iconic Italian Lambretta scooter, popular amongst Mods. Their biggest hit was in 1980, a cover version of Poison Ivy which reached No7 in the UK singles charts. The follow-up, "Da-a-a-nce" reached No12 and in the same year, their album Beat Boys in the Jet Age reached No28 in the Albums chart. After that the Mod revival faded and the band played their final concert (in their original incarnation) in London on 14th April 1982. The band then re-formed for a time in the 1990s and again in 2009
