LARRY GAINS d1983. Canadian heavyweight boxer who was champion of Canada and the British Empire. (146 Fights / 118 Wins / 22 Losses / 5 Draws). One of the top heavyweights of his era, he was denied the opportunity to become World Champion due to the bar on black boxers competing for the title. He was recognised as the World Coloured Heavyweight Champion twice in his career. He was the last before the title became extinct after Joe Louis won the World Heavyweight title on 22nd June 1937.
