LEE LAWRENCE d1961. British singer of the 1950s best known for his 1953-54 hits "Crying in The Chapel" and "Suddenly There's A Valley". He lost popularity when Rock and Roll hit the UK in 1957 and subsequently moved to the US. He died aged just 40 of a heart attack in 1961 whilst on tour in the West Indies.
