LOVE STORY. 1970 romantic drama film written by Erich Segal and directed by Arthur Hiller. The lead roles were played by Ali MacGraw (Jenny Cavilleri Barrett) and Ryan Oneal (Oliver Barrett IV). The film, well known as a tear-jerking tragedy is considered to be one of the most romantic of all time and is ranked at No9 by the American Film Institute. It was also highly successful (taking 106 million USD at the box-office) with a production budget of just 2.2 million USD. Nominated for seven Academy Awards in 1970, it won just one for best musical score
