Max Miller

MAX MILLER d1963. British comedian nicknamed "The Cheeky Chappie" who was a top of the bill variety performer during the 1930-50s. He made films, toured in revues and music-hall, sang and recorded songs some of which he wrote. He was known for his flamboyant suits, his wicked charm and his often risque jokes which often got him into trouble with the censors of the period. He died aged 68 in 1963.
