MOTT THE HOOPLE. British rock band popular in the glam-rock era active between 1969-1974. They are probably best known for their 1972 UK No3 single "All The Young Dudes" written for them by David Bowie. Their 1973 LP "Mott" reached No7 in the album charts and the 1974 follow up "Mott The Hoople" (No11). Other UK Top 20 singles include ; Honaloochie Boogie (1973) / All The Way From Memphis (1973) / Roll Away The Stone (1973) and The Golden Age of Rock N Roll (1974). Ian Hunter left the group in 1974 with Mick Ronson.
