Nat King Cole

NAT KING COLE d1965. Legendary pioneering black performer who paved the way for many to follow him after getting his own TV show in the 1940s . A truly exceptional jazz pianist who became better known (to his own surprise) as a singer of many classic hits including "Unforgettable" in 1951. He remains one of the biggest record sellers of all time. A heavy smoker throughout his life, he died of lung cancer on 15th February 1965.
