An original typed two page letter with interesting content on his own headed paper dated March 28th 1968, clearly signed at the conclusion in ink by Norman McLaren


One of a collection of around fifteen original mid-1960s letters returned to the correspondent (S. Bennett) from prominent film directors / animators / photographers and camera-men of the period. Mr Bennett during & whilst researching for a book wrote to them asking five questions in regards to their careers. 1) Assistance to career 2) Film directors they most admire 3) Most outstanding film 4) What film they would most like to make 5) Advice for an amateur film-maker. NORMAN MCLAREN d1987. Scottish Canadian animator, director and producer. He was a pioneer in a number of areas of animation and filmmaking. His awards included an Oscar for the Best Documentary in 1952 for Neighbours and a 1969 BAFTA Award for Best Animated Film for Pas De Deux
