Not The Nine O'clock News

NOT THE NINE O'CLOCK NEWS. BBC TV satirical comedy sketch show broadcast between 1979-1982, featuring a new generation of young comedians ; Rowan Atkinson / Pamela Stephenson / Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones. It ran for 27 episodes and won The Bafta in 1982 for Best Light Entertainment programme. Mel Smith died of a heart attack aged 60 on July 19th 2013.
