PETER FLEMING d1971. British adventurer, journalist, soldier, travel writer and the elder brother of James Bond creator Ian Fleming. He was married to Brief Encounter actress Celia Johnson. He died in Scotland aged 64 on August 18th 1971

A poignant original handwritten and signed personal letter (dated September 1st 1964) in ink on his own headed paper by Peter Fleming

"Thank you so much for your letter about Ian. It was a miserable business. He was a splendid and unusual chap, I shall always miss him. Come and see me when you get back from Normandy. Love from everyone ..."

Certification:

The letter was written two weeks after the death of his brother Ian Fleming on August 12th 1964. From the family collection of RJA. The letter is to Joan B A who ran the Secret Intelligence Centre for Winston Churchill during WW2. AFTAL Dealer No13 and UACC RD Memorabilia UK COA
