PETER GRAVES d2010. American film and television actor best known for his role as Jim Phelps in the CBS television series Mission Impossible from 1967-1973 and its revival 1988-90. He is also affectionately remembered for his portrayal of airplane pilot Captain Clarence Oveur in the 1980 comedy film "Airplane" and its 1982 sequel. He died of a heart attack in California aged 83 on March 14th 2010
