PROCUL HARUM. English rock band who as The Paramounts had an early hit with Poison Ivy in 1964. The core members of the group Gary Brooker / Robin Thrower and Chris Copping left in 1966 to form Procul Harum. The group then had huge success with one of pop musics greatest ever songs "A Whiter Shade of Pale" ; No1 for 6 weeks all over the world in 1967. Other later hits included "Homburg" and "Pandoras Box" No16 in 1975. The group finally split in 1977.
