Ramones

RAMONES. Influential American rock band formed in New York in 1974. Despite achieving only limited commercial success they are widely regarded to be the godfather pioneers of early punk rock. All group members adopted the surname "Ramone" despite none being actually related to one another. They toured virtually non stop for 20 years playing 2263 concerts. They disbanded after playing their farewell gig at the Lollapalooza festival in 1996. Within eight years three of the groups founding members had died ; Joey d2001 / Dee Dee d2002 and Johnny d2004
