Rocky Marciano

ROCKY MARCIANO d1969. American professional boxer who competed from 1947 to 1955 and held the world heavyweight title from 1952 to 1956. He is the only heavyweight champion to have finished his career undefeated. 49 fights / 49 wins with 43 KO's. He had six title defenses and is remembered for his relentless fighting style, formidable punching power, stamina and exceptionally durable chin. He has been included by boxing historians in lists of the greatest boxers of all time. He holds the highest knockout-to-win ratio in world heavyweight title fights at 85.7%. His career knockout-to-win percentage of 87.8% remains one of the highest in heavyweight boxing history. He died in an aeroplane crash in Iowa aged just 45 on August 31st 1969
