ROSALIND RUSSELL d1976. American actress of stage and screen during the 1930-70s. She is best known for her role as a fast-talking newspaper reporter in the Howard Hawks screwball comedy "His Girl Friday" and as Mame Dennis in the film "Auntie Mame". She won all five Golden Globes for which she was nominated . Her trademark was playing character roles ; exceptionally wealthy, dignified ladylike women. She died aged 69 of breast cancer
